Your guide to submitting an application.
How to submit a mortgage application
If you have any queries before you submit your application, contact your local BDM.

Step 1
Check your client's affordability.

Step 2
Submit an Agreement in Principle (AIP) into our Mortgage Sales Originations (MSO) platform.

Step 3
Proceed to a full online application. We aim to process your client's application as quickly as possible.

Step 4
Once you've submitted your application, you can check which documents have been received and accepted and the progress of your application by logging into MSO. You don’t need to call us.
Supporting documents
Any documents needed to support the application will be generated according to the specific case requirements. To avoid any delays, please submit the documents as quickly as possible.
You may be asked to provide further information to support the application. The email address we use for any requests will be the one you used to register for MSO.
We will usually ask for:
Employed
Please provide 1 month’s personal bank statement showing income and all bill payments. Alongside this, we require the most recent month’s payslip or most recent 4 payslips (if paid weekly) or 2 payslips (if paid fortnightly).
If the income is split over more than 1 account, we will need to see the additional account statements. All statements must include name, address and bank account number.
Self Employed
Ltd Company Director/Shareholder should provide the last 2 years of accounts prepared by an appropriately qualified accountant. Along with a full month personal bank statement showing the applicant's name, address, sort code and account number.
Sole Trader
SA302 and HMRC Tax Overview documents for the last 2 years, and a full months' personal bank statement showing the applicants name, address, sort code and account number.
Latest full month bank statement showing each applicant’s salary credit if in employment. In the case of self-employed applicants the latest full months personal bank statement.
Bank statements must include the applicant's name, address, sort code and account number.
Evidence of a suitable repayment strategy is required for all interest only or part interest only residential applications. Please refer to the Mortgage Lending Criteria for full details of acceptable repayment strategies.
